The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) seeks an accomplished, forward-looking leader to serve as its next Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer. This is a rare opportunity to guide a global nonprofit that sits at the intersection of business renewal, restructuring, and transformation.

About TMA

TMA is the premier international association dedicated to professionals in the turnaround, restructuring, and corporate renewal industries. With more than 10,000 members in 57 chapters worldwide, including 32 across North America, TMA represents a dynamic, multi-disciplinary community that includes professionals in law, finance, consulting, government, and academia.

Headquartered in Chicago, TMA operates with a professional staff of 15+ and an annual budget of approximately $5 million. The association offers certification programs, industry-leading conferences, and extensive educational and networking opportunities that advance professional excellence and innovation.

The Opportunity

The CEO will serve as the chief executive and strategic leader of the organization, responsible for advancing TMA’s mission and enhancing its impact globally. In partnership with the Board of Trustees, this leader will:

  • Drive growth in membership, chapter engagement, and educational programming
  • Oversee financial performance, governance, and organizational development
  • Elevate TMA’s voice and influence across industries and geographies
  • Foster collaboration, inclusion, and innovation among members and staff
  • Strengthen relationships with chapters, sponsors, and global partners

Candidate Profile
