Every CTP and CTA is expected to serve his or her clients in an independent, competent, and professional manner, and to exercise unprejudiced and unbiased judgment on each client’s behalf. Certified professionals are required to remain active in the profession, to abide by the TMA Code of Ethics, and to complete at least 15 units of continuing education units (CEUs) for CTPs (10 units for CTAs) during each yearly reporting period, including one unit of ethics credit. Earn CEUs by watching content on TMA Learning Link™, your members-only content library.

Suspension/Revocation: If a CTP or CTA fails to meet attestation or renewal payment requirements for any one (1) year period, or if an audit indicates that not enough credits were earned, CTPs and CTAs will be notified of suspension. Suspension means that the individual will not in any manner be permitted to represent him/herself as a CTP or CTA. The suspended CTP/CTA will then be granted a grace period of six months to obtain the required credits and file a new attestation on or before June 30 indicating compliance. Upon receipt and review of the reported CEUs the individual’s status as a CTP or CTA shall be reinstated. The failure to correct CEU delinquency within the six (6) month grace period will result in the revocation of the certification subject to reinstatement.
