Turnaround Management Association Receives 2024 Power of Associations Silver Award

[CHICAGO, IL]—The Turnaround Management Association (TMA) has been recognized with a Power of Associations Silver Award by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) for its successful Voices of Inclusion & Playbook for Progress initiatives. Only six associations are selected each year to receive The Power of Associations Award—ASAE’s highest honor for associations that go above and beyond their everyday mission to undertake initiatives that benefit America and the world.

Voices of Inclusion
TMA launched a multi-channel communications campaign that included social media and newsletter features showcasing real member voices during Pride Month, Black History Month, Women’s History Month, and Hispanic Heritage Month. During this campaign, TMA showcased diversity among its volunteers and members and allowed them to share in their own words the challenges and opportunities they face and have faced.

Playbook for Progress
TMA’s DEI Playbook was created by TMA’s DEI Committee to facilitate DEI conversations and act as a resource for chapter boards to share best practices, see possibilities, understand what works and what doesn’t work, and implement these ideas. Providing this practical guide allowed TMA to operationalize its DEI initiative throughout the organization. This playbook serves as a guide and compilation of best practices in areas such as governance, events, recruiting and retention, and opportunities for partnerships.

“Congratulations to TMA for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent, and on society at large,” said ASAE President and CEO Michelle Mason, FASAE, CAE. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight this award-winning initiative.”

“Our population and workforce are increasingly diverse – encouraging participation, success and
growth in the turnaround industry by diverse members will only strengthen our profession and our members’ ability to serve clients. This allows us to further our mission of inclusion by maintaining and enhancing a multidisciplinary community of professionals and thought leaders,” said TMA CEO Scott Y. Stuart, Esq.
