Lauren Berret, EisnerAmper (TMA Philadelphia/Wilmington)
Lauren Berret, a director in the Eisner Advisory Group’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Services Group, has been a dedicated TMA member for years and a fixture on the TMA Philadelphia/Wilmington Board. Those who have worked with Berret on TMA initiatives all speak glowingly of her. Additionally, she served as guest editor of the September issue of the Journal of Corporate Renewal, which was the first issue dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

TMA Chapter Impact Award
Mark Felger, Cozen O’Connor (TMA Philadelphia/Wilmington)
Mark Felger, the co-chair of bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring for Cozen O’Connor, has proven the power of the individual with his tireless work with the TMA Philadelphia/Wilmington Chapter. Long involved in chapter leadership, he was crucial in
creating and developing a program of fireside chats that helps connect TMA members across the region. As an experience professional and volunteer, Felger is an essential resource for TMA board members who are looking for guidance and support.

2024 TMA CHAPTER AWARD WINNERS

North American Chapter Excellence Award
TMA Indiana
President Rhett B. Rowe
The award committee noted the comprehensive
nature of TMA Indiana’s submission in this category, noting the breadth and depth of its programs. TMA Indiana has implemented several initiatives to build growth that should become models for other similarly sized chapters in the U.S. and abroad.

Most Innovative Program Award
TMA Houston
President Arsalan Muhammad
The TMA Houston Chapter led a testimony workshop with two bankruptcy judges that provided a platform for early-career professionals to practice serving as and examining witnesses. TMA Houston’s Education Committee paired early-career nonlawyers with lawyers. The teams then prepared mock depositions and prepared for a mock trial. The lawyers examined their witnesses with the teams receiving feedback from the judges.

International Chapter Excellence Award
TMA Brazil
President Luiz F. Saragiotto
The sheer volume of programming and the value delivered to members were two crucial aspects of TMA Brazil’s application that grabbed attention from the awards committee. In some respects, the chapter operates like a standalone business in its efficiency and effectiveness. TMA Brazil, with more than 700 members, also presents a clear vision of growth and expansion in the years to come.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award
TMA New York City
President Kathleen Aiello
The TMA New York City Chapter hosted a kickoff event for the 2023 TMA Global NOW Conference that featured a DEI Speakeasy. The awards committee was impressed with the idea of linking a speakeasy, an underground location for cocktails and conversation, with a “secret” place to discuss DEI in restructuring. The committee also noted TMA New York City’s commitment to drive engagement NOW as a part of broader DEI initiatives.

International Chapter Excellence Award
TMA Australia
President Zina Edwards
The large international chapters are all excellent in delivering value to members, but TMA Australia has been impressive in the quality and quantity of programming. The guidebook, which is a powerful touchstone resource for all Australian members, should be a model for all other chapters to emulate.
We invite you to join us in celebrating their achievements at the 2024 TMA Annual Conference, taking place at the Loews Philadelphia, October 15 – 18. Register here to attend.
