Lastly, today on this segment of member moments, we salute the memory of the late Kevin Carey, former TMA Global chair, retired Delaware bankruptcy judge, and most recently, Hogan Lovells’ Philadelphia partner, who passed away suddenly last week.

Judge Carey touched many of our lives, as a judge, teacher, mentor and friend.  And in the years he was involved with TMA and named its President and Chairman, he was the first, and to date the only sitting judge to have assumed the highest of TMA leadership roles.

I not only had the pleasure and honor of getting to know Judge Carey when I was a practitioner but also worked with him as a volunteer when I was involved for many years with the Mid-Atlantic Symposium. I had the honor of toasting his retirement from the bench. I also had the opportunity to work with Judge Carey, where together we taught at the St. John’s Law School/ABI mediation program.

Judge Carey was honored as a past chair at the 2018 Hall of Fame ceremony in Colorado Springs, where we celebrated his service to our defining organization. We will celebrate Judge Carey’s life in a special tribute in the May JCR and plan to hold a ceremony in his honor at this year’s TMA Annual, to be held in Judge Carey’s hometown of Philadelphia, PA.

May the memory of Kevin Carey be a blessing.

As always, thanks for taking the time to listen today. And thanks again to our TMA CEO Speaks exclusive sponsor, Second Wind Consultants, for your support of TMA and this podcast.

As TMA Lights The Way, your input is critical, your contributions paramount, and your engagement the foundation that will create a better TMA for all of our members.

Until next time, I’m Scott Stuart. Be safe, resilient, and TMA Proud.
