CEO Speaks 2.24.2024

Happy Saturday, and welcome to CEO Speaks for Saturday, February 24th, 2024, sponsored exclusively by Second Wind Consultants, specializing in article 9, out-of-court, transactional restructurings.

Each TMA year starts with the Distressed Investing Conference—and 2024 kicked off in Las Vegas with more than 1,000 participants, igniting the moment and sparking our year ahead.

Now, as we settle into TMA 2024, chapter, regional, global, and international opportunities start in earnest.

I invite one and all to be motivated and invigorated by the endless experiences that await you. The message is simple: Be the spark, and seize the moment. As you do, embrace a world of TMA innovation and imagination that displays how—together—we can connect, learn, and grow.

In my upcoming travels, along with TMA Global President Allen WilenPresident-elect Rachael Smiley, and VP of Chapter Relations Rob Patrick, amongst others, we too will learn from our members and leaders who continue to imagine new ways to heighten the TMA experience and raise the bar on member value by defining what it means and how it continues to grow ever more relevant.

March will feature the TMA Florida Chapter Conference in Tampa, where a statewide conference experience draws not just from Florida but much of the Southeast and other parts of the country too.

The always standout Mid-America Regional Conference in April—hosted by TMA Chicago/Midwest, Detroit, Minnesota, Northern Ohio, and West Michigan Chapters—will, for the first time, be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This cooperative of Midwest chapters never disappoints with fantastic educational resources and endless opportunities to network and connect.

TMA Rocky Mountain, now seven states strong, joins TMA Arizona for a second year of a joint chapter experience in Scottsdale, Arizona, that has already taken on the feel of a regional conference. Farther west, TMA SoCal and NorCal will bring an expanse of TMA members together at one of our organization’s most popular joint chapter programs—the pure networking extravaganza—to Napa Valley, California.

June’s East Coast classic, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Symposium, hosted by TMA Philadelphia-Wilmington, New Jersey, and Chesapeake Chapters, continues to grow into something approaching a national-level event in attracting so many to the famed boardwalk of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The TMA Global Network of Women, this year celebrating its 10th anniversary, will surely ignite thought leadership and opportunity at its May global conference in Chicago. The TMA NextGen Leadership Conference, meanwhile, heads to Toronto to open a world of TMA opportunity to dynamic up-and-coming leaders of our industry.

Mid-June will boast the second TMA Global International Symposium along with the TMA European Annual, both being held in London. This worldwide event will also host a TMA Global Executive Board meeting, a TMA UK pre-conference kickoff, and premier programming to connect our leaders and members from all over the world.

The chapters of the Southwest gather in Texas in April for a tried-and-true experience in San Antonio, while the Southeast chapters will bring many from near and far to historic Savannah, Georgia, for their regional opportunity in August.

With a calendar jam-packed with events, TMA continues to light the way by creating endless options at all levels that offer something for every member. You, as a single connection, can become exponentially stronger and more impactful with every TMA engagement.

Tireless effort and unmatched expertise define an actionable organization like ours—and I sincerely hope that all of TMA Nation’s offerings will encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and do something fresh and new. That way, you can become an even more valuable part of the TMA story.

Will you #bethespark that continues to ignite opportunity today to assure our vibrancy and member value in 2024 and beyond? The challenge is there. The opportunity is yours. We will be better for it and will stand #TMAProud.

As always, thanks for taking the time to listen today. And thanks again to our TMA CEO Speaks exclusive sponsor, Second Wind Consultants for your support of TMA and this podcast.

As TMA Lights the Way, your input is critical, your contributions paramount, and your engagement the foundation that will create a better TMA for all of our members.

Until next time, I’m Scott Stuart. Be safe, resilient, and TMA Proud.
