Energy and excitement abound as we enter a new year of TMA opportunities. This month, we kick things off with two stand-out webinars. The first which will take place next week on January 18th at noon CT/1 pm ET, will revive last year’s incredibly popular and super practical program on Bankruptcy mediation, led by mediator extraordinaire Rick Mikels, who along with panelists the Hon. Joan Feeney and the Hon. Robert Gerber, will bring some of the most experienced thought leaders and practitioners to this incredibly important practice tool and for which CLE, CPE, and CEU credits will be available. If you haven’t yet registered for this FREE webinar, go to turnaround.org and do so today.
Then, In just a few weeks, nearly 1,000 TMA members from near and far will ignite the moment that so eloquently kicks off our TMA year at the table-setting conference of the year, the 2024 TMA Distressed Investing Conference to be held at the Encore Las Vegas February 6th-9th.
This year, our conference moves into one of the most actionable of experiences as a turbulent world of opportunity and invention in the restructuring world continues to take shape.
In response to the changing dynamics of our unsettled world, this TMA DIC will be a more connected, cutting-edge, real-world, real-time experience than ever before, igniting a new level of thought leadership for those who have long been part of our profession and many of those who are new to restructuring too.
It will all begin with a TMA boot camp, which grows ever more popular with every TMA conference experience, where Matthew English CTP, and Frank Turner CTP, will lead the sold-out boot camp, complimented for the legal portion of the program by Chapter presidents Council Chair Rachael Mauceri and TMA Philadelphia- Wilmington President elect Monique DiSabatino who will impart their vast knowledge to a sold-out group of professionals who will come together to learn the basics of restructuring finance, management and law, the foundation of our certification opportunities and this year for the first time we will welcome the Hon. Thomas Horan from the District of Delaware as part of the boot camp faculty.
Our lineup of education brings the real and relevant to the forefront in discussions of ‘Current Trends In Real Estate: Hot Messes and Cool Deals”; “Double DIP Financing: The Next Ideation of Creditor on Creditor Violence”; “Capital Raise: Show Me the Money But the Cost May Be High” as well as an international focused program on “Near Shoring and Re-Shoring: Fact and Fiction of Cross Boarder Investment Opportunities.” This year, the ever-popular Mega Trends Program will focus on issues involving the geopolitical and economic uncertainties that lie ahead.
Enough cannot be said by way of thanks to the committee of TMA members who worked tirelessly at the formation of these stand-out and actionable education sessions and the storied panelists who will partake in these intellectual yet interesting and real-time relevant topics.
Many thanks to VP of Conferences Jennifer Meyerowitz and DIC Committee co-chairs Alicia Den Beste, Carollynn Callari, and Kevin Clancy for your visionary leadership and to committee members Adeola Akinriande, Gene Aronson, Paul Davies, Jamie Edmonson, Kip Fagerstrom, Molly Jobe, Jill Kirshinbaum, James Katchadurian, Ron Reuter, and Sam Suchowiecky for so diligently working together to bring together best in class panels with industry-leading speakers from all over the world.
Our keynote speaker, Molly McPherson, is not just a crisis communications expert, but in the digital era and one driven by social media and rapid-fire communications that shape a crisis in real-time, Molly is a non-traditionalist who brings a fresh lens to crisis management, public relations and an innovative approach to reign in what can spiral into problematic territory.
Our Network of Women will again bring a best-in-class opportunity as they raise the bar on the art of networking, where TMA Chicago-Midwest member Jill Kirshinbaum will ignite the day with an interactive opportunity of empowerment on best networking practices focused specifically on the women of our defining organization.
With networking opportunities unsurpassed industry-wide, this conference experience defines the year and sets the table right I look forward to seeing one and all in a few weeks there, and if you’ve not yet registered to be there, I urge you to do so today, so you too can be the spark that ignites our story of TMA tomorrow.
The TMA star shines bright and 2024 is starting right. With a record number of participants at this year’s Distressed Investing Conference, we will again reaffirm the power of engagement, celebrate the collaboration across professional demographics, and bring together members from around the world who will both experience member value in this eclectic environment and who will leave DIC ignited for how in 2024 #TMALightsTheWay.
