Scott Y. Stuart
TMA Global CEO
Scott Y. Stuart, Esq. is the chief executive officer of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), headquartered in Chicago, IL. TMA is a global nonprofit organization of nearly 10,000 turnaround and corporate renewal professionals who are members of over 50+ chapters worldwide. Scott is an industry-leading attorney with over 30 years of experience in restructuring, litigation, and distressed investing, and is recognized as an industry thought leader often quoted in major media outlets including Reuters, MSNBC, Wall Street Journal, NPR, and Inc Magazine amongst others. Scott has served in his current role as TMA’s Chief Executive Officer since 2018.
Adam Gilgour
Director, Operations
As the Director of Operations, Adam is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the daily operations for TMA’s global office to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. He works on improving operational processes, enhancing member services, and facilitating communication across the organization to promote growth, stability, and member satisfaction in Turnaround Management Association.
Adam is originally from Kanas City, MO, but has called Chicago home since 2010. In his free time, he enjoys attending live theatre and spending time with his dog, Albert.
Savanh Denton
Executive Assistant
Savanh is the Executive Assistant to the CEO at TMA, where she leverages over two decades of expertise in supporting a wide range of industries and organizations. Her extensive background encompasses roles across various sectors, from corporate environments to non-profit and arts organizations, allowing her to bring a proactive and strategic approach to her role. At TMA, she is dedicated to enhancing executive support and driving organizational success. Outside of work, Savanh enjoys spending quality time with her family and indulging in her passion for fiber art, where she channels her creativity and attention to detail into unique artistic projects.
Phyllis Collins
Operations and Administrative Coordinator
Phyllis Collins has been with TMA since 2020, helping our members navigate TMA’s online platform and addressing their membership inquiries in both membership and operations. Phyllis supports TMA members in many ways—always with a smile and a positive, can-do attitude. Phyllis has a wealth of experience in the nonprofit and health industry sectors, which has contributed to her superb customer relations skills.
Jodi Talley
Senior Director, Marketing & Communications
Jodi Talley is a veteran of creating, implementing, and managing marketing strategies that help brands tell stories. She believes that communication and creativity are the solutions to just about every problem and that no brand or product is too dull to make an emotional connection with an audience. She believes that you’re not just selling a product, membership, or event registration; you’re selling a solution, a dream, or an experience. Digital marketing, websites, social media, video, email, and print are tactics that support the strategy, and knowing what to use, how to use it—and when— is something she has mastered over her 20 years in the nonprofit marketing field.
Mathew Elpern
Senior Manager, Marketing & Brand
Mathew Elpern has spent over twenty years mastering marketing, design, communications, and web development for the for-profit, non-profit, and association sectors. With his wide range of skills and experiences, Mat describes himself as a “Marketing Swiss Army Knife.”
Working in the non-profit sector forces one to be nimble and innovative, and this is where Mat excels. He is always looking for new emerging technologies to incorporate into his marketing toolbox. Mat is consistently an early adopter of all digital and emerging media forms through video, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, virtual reality, apps, and more.
Mat grew up in Southern Ontario, and is a huge hockey fan, loves going on walks with his wife, Melissa, and two Toy Australian Shepherds, Scout and Puck.
Talayah Goodlow
Senior Coordinator, Marketing & Communications
With a keen eye for design and a passion for community engagement, Talayah brings over 20 years of experience in graphic design and a robust background in marketing to her role as Senior Marketing Coordinator at the Turnaround Management Association (TMA). Armed with an MBA and over a decade of experience spanning the US government and the City in the nonprofit sector, she has consistently demonstrated her creativity, hard work, and dedication to excellence.
Before joining TMA, Talayah honed her marketing skills at the Chicago Park District, where she played a pivotal role in promoting community programs and events. At TMA, she is the driving force behind the production of newsletters, the management of social media channels, and serves as a vital liaison for the Network of Women (NOW). Her innovative approach and strategic mindset have significantly enhanced TMA’s communication efforts, ensuring that the association’s message reaches a wide and engaged audience.
Beyond her professional achievements, Talayah is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She is an active volunteer, dedicating her free time to various causes and initiatives. Within TMA, she is a key member of the Culture Club, leading efforts to foster a positive and inclusive work environment for all her colleagues. Talayah’s blend of technical expertise, marketing acumen, and heartfelt commitment to community service makes her an invaluable asset to TMA and a true inspiration to those around her.
Nicholas Leider
Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Corporate Renewal
Nick serves as the editor of the Journal of Corporate Renewal, TMA’s industry-leading publication that is delivered to 6,400 North American readers 10 times a year. With nearly 20 years of experience in magazines, he has covered subjects ranging from professional billiards to metallurgy. He’s also a published author, writing “Pool & Billiards for Dummies,” which was released in 2010.
Outside the office, when Nick isn’t chasing around his baby daughter, Mae Ellen, he enjoys running, cooking, seeing live music, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs and Bulls. (OK, OK, that last one isn’t always—or even often—enjoyable.)
Ashleigh Hill
Senior Manager, Education
Ashleigh serves as the staff liaison the Education Oversight Committee, the Certification Oversight Committee and to the Annual Meeting, Distressed Investing Conference, and NextGen Leadership Conference. She manages all of TMA Global’s in-person and online educational projects and programming.
Ashleigh holds an MA in Gender Studies from DePaul University and has volunteered with Chicago animal rescues for over 10 years.
Ashlynn Hill
Manager, Awards & Education
Ashlynn manages all TMA Award Programs, including Turnaround & Transaction, Chapter and Individual, DIC Planning Awards, Annual Planning Awards, Hall of Fame, or any recognition for TMA. She ensures the smooth distribution of awards and trophies, working with vendors to design and order/ship trophies. Equally important is her role as the staff liaison for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, where she manages all the subcommittee’s initiatives. Notably, she takes the lead in coordinating the DE&I Education sessions at conferences, ensuring that these meaningful discussions are well-organized and impactful.
Tawana Roberts
Senior Specialist, Membership Database Support
Tawana Roberts is a detail-oriented and highly motivated data analyst with over 20 years of experience in membership database systems. In her role as Senior Specialist, Membership Database Support, Tawana excels in understanding customer requirements and translating them into actionable project documentation.
Her expertise spans a wide range of technical tools, including Crystal Reports development, SQL scripting, Power BI dashboards, and JAMA. Tawana is skilled in project planning and management, technical support, and problem resolution, making her a versatile asset to any team.
Known for her strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with complex data and processes, Tawana thrives both independently and collaboratively. She brings a team-oriented approach to her work, ensuring that organizational goals are met with precision and efficiency.

Erin Kabot
Chapter Support Specialist
Erin is an accomplished professional with nearly 20 years of experience in association membership management. As the Chapter Support Specialist at TMA Global, she plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations for membership, international chapters, conferences, and registrations. Erin’s expertise also extends to serving as the staff liaison to the Chapter Resource & Response Committee (CRRC) Committee.

Scott F. Zeller
Director, Sponsorship & Business Development
As the Director of Sponsorship and Business Development, Scott leads sales and client-relationship management, develops new strategic partnerships, and guides long-term objectives to meet the business needs of the Turnaround Management Association. He is focused on regularly identifying and cultivating new business development opportunities, managing and growing existing accounts, and strengthening the overall value of TMA sponsorships, while also providing steadfast support to the TMA network of members, volunteers, chapters, sponsors, and industry partners.
Scott maintains strategic oversight of TMA Global conferences, affinity group meetings and both educational and networking events, while collaborating with members of planning committees and program staff, including conference events planners and vendors/contractors.
Scott also currently serves as the staff liaison to the TMA Chapter Presidents Council and the TMA Collaboration Committee. Scott has served in his current role as TMA’s Director of Sponsorship and Business Development since 2019.
