The TMA NextGen program provides networking, education and career development opportunities and resources at both the national and chapter level for those who are in the early stages of their careers in the turnaround and corporate renewal industry.

Atlanta
TMA Atlanta NextGen will be hosting a cocktail reception at TAP on January 12, 6:30 p.m., to get 2012 off to a good start (register). Starting in February, TMA Atlanta NextGen will begin hosting "Thirsty Thursdays," a series of informal social events at various Atlanta locations. Stay tuned for more details. California - Northern
The most recently held event was “Financing the Turnaround," June 17 in San Francisco. The session brought together panelists from across the lending spectrum to discuss their role in a turnaround and how different forms of capital interact with one another. On June 21, the chapter hosted a Young Professionals Networking breakfast at The Luxe Summit Hotel Bel Air, offering an opportunity to share ideas, re-connect and discuss issues impacting attendees’ practice areas. Learn more about the Southern California Young Professionals.

Chicago/Midwest
This year the chapter has held a "Strike-A-Deal Bowling" event with more than 70 participants and a Rooftop Networking event. The next scheduled activity is the 8th Annual Texas Hold’Em Tournament (October). Learn more about the Chicago/Midwest Future Leaders.

On August 11, the chapter hosted its annual Young Professionals Networking Event with the Philadelphia CFA at G Lounge, located in Philadelphia’s celebrated Rittenhouse Square neighborhood. Montreal
In July the Montreal Young Professionals hosted a summer cocktail event, which followed a roundtable discussion in May titled "Priority Charges and their Effects on Secured Lenders." The committee is planning their next event for the Fall of 2011. Learn more about the Montreal Young Professionals.

National Events & Resources
2012 TMA Distressed Investing Conference - Taking place January 18-20 at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the sixth annual distressed debt event features keynote speaker Stuart Varney of Fox News, an Opening Reception Co-hosted by TMA and the Commercial Finance Association and the Turnaround Capital Forum and Cocktail Reception.

2012 TMA Annual Convention - TMA’s 24th annual event takes place November 1-3 at the Westin Copley Place in Boston.
TMA held a Young Professionals Reception at the 2011 TMA Annual Convention in San Diego, providing an opportunity for young professionals to network with their peers and meet industry leaders. The TMA NextGen Committee also held an education session developed specifically for young professionals at the convention, “Rainmaking: Business Development for the Next Generation.” Led by moderator and TMA NextGen Committee Co-chair Jonathan Reimche, a panel of nationally recognized speakers shared insight from their personal experiences with a packed room of more than 75 attendees.
Look for information later this year about similar NextGen events to be held at the 2012 convention.
TMAccess Webinars - TMA regularly hosts webinar throughout the year and also makes previously held webinars available for viewing.
Body of Knowledge Courses/CTP Exams - Courses and CTP exams covering Law, Management and Accounting & Finance, are being held in Detroit November 13-15.
