Congratulations to the 2008 TMA scholarship winner - Meghan Marie Willeke!
The Colorado Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) named Meghan Willeke as the recipient of its 2008 Turnaround Management Association scholarship, and award dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for up-and-coming industry professionals.
Ms. Willeke, a Greeley native, has a proven track record as a student leader and community volunteer. Most notable was her high school valedictorian award and volunteer roles at North Colorado Medical Center. After graduation, she plans to continue in the healthcare arena as a public accountant. Ms. Willeke, also a business student at the University of Denver, has already completed two accounting internships with Newmont Mining Corporation and Castleman and Associates.
The scholarship will be awarded to Ms. Gavell at TMA’s Colorado monthly luncheon Wednesday, September 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Denver Athletic Club. The event will focus on "Quiznos Go Forward Plan" presented by Quiznos EVP and CFO Brandon Turner.
The 2007 Scholarship winner, Amy Gavell, will also be honored at the September 24 luncheon.
Ms. Gavell, a Montrose native, graduated in the top 10 in her class while accruing a long list of student honors and activities including Student Council, excellence in Science and Math awards and varsity sports. Although pursuing a business/marketing degree at the University of Denver to have the broadest career opportunities possible, her ideal job would be starting a Center for Autistic Children to support and educate the entire community on this often overlooked developmental disability.
