The Chesapeake Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA Chesapeake)
will present its Small Business Turnaround of the Year Award to Thomas P.
McShane, president of the McShane Group, at its October 13 breakfast
The event is scheduled for 8:00
a.m. at the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel, located at 110 South Eutaw
Street near West Lombard Street.
McShane Group is a consulting
firm specializing in turnarounds, workouts and restructuring of middle-market
companies across the Eastern Seaboard.
Seasoned executives provide hands-on assistance to financially troubled,
underperforming and entrepreneurial companies. Expert in a variety of fields – from
high tech and health to manufacturing and service – McShane consultants have
assisted companies in areas including business sales and asset dispositions;
debt restructuring; interim management; strategic business realignment; and
achieving solvency for financially distressed operations.

Prior to starting his consulting
company, McShane held positions as chief operating officer and chief financial
officer for both private and public entities, acquiring in-depth experience in
manufacturing, distribution and high technology areas. Achievements included the successful
initial and subsequent public equity offerings for CompuSave a high-tech startup
in Irvine, California.
McShane began his career
with Deloitte & Touche’s Special Business Services Group, allowing him
to add public accounting, retail, non-profit and real estate development
experience to his expanding resume.
A Certified Turnaround Professional and Certified Public
Accountant, McShane is a co-founder and past president of TMA Chesapeake
and member of the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals. He received a B.A. in
accounting from Florida International University and resides with his
family in Hunt Valley, MD.
TMA Chesapeake has monthly
meetings featuring speakers of interest to the turnaround community based
throughout Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia. The October 13 meeting is open to
