CHICAGO – A panel of corporate restructuring experts will explore restaurant and franchise turnarounds during “Emerging from the Economic Edge: The Outlook for Restructuring in the Franchise Industry," a webinar hosted by the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) on Thursday, May 17, from Noon – 1:00 p.m. Eastern.
Panelists will draw upon experience from engagements with Burger King Corporation, Pizza Hut, Inc., Popeyes, Quiznos, Sonic, YUM! Brands, Inc., and many others. A holistic view of the industry will be shared from the perspective of a number of fields including law, investment banking, real estate, and operations.
David M. Bagley, CTP (moderator)

A partner with CRG Partners, Baldwin has more than 25 years of interim management and advisory experience. Among his notable engagements include serving as: president and CRO of a 350-unit franchised quick-service restaurant chain; interim CFO for a $325 million publicly-held restaurant chain; interim president and CRO for an 82-unit steakhouse chain; interim COO for a 91-unit cafeteria chain; CFO for a 130-unit fast food franchisee; and at least 20 other financial advisory assignments in the restaurant industry.
Michael M. Elliot
Elliot is founder and managing partner of Peak Franchise Capital, a boutique restaurant industry-focused advisory and consulting firm. Peak’s unique experience includes extensive work in acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, bankruptcies, development and financial management. Elliot has worked with franchisors and franchisees in various senior level roles throughout his career. Previous assignments have included Quiznos, Burger King Corporation YUM! Brands, Inc., and Pizza Hut, Inc.
Mitchell P. Kahn
One of the founders and principals of Frontline Real Estate Partners, Kahn is experienced in real estate development and deal making involving restructuring, disposition, lease renegotiation and acquisitions. Kahn is also the president of Badger Real Estate Advisors LLC and Badger Investments LLC. Formerly, he was the founder, president and CEO of Hilco Real Estate. Under his leadership, Hilco Real Estate subleased, relocated, and renegotiated hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail, commercial and industrial space.
Ryan R. Palmer
An attorney for Monroe Moxness Berg PA, Palmer counsels emerging and established franchisors, licensors, distributors, sales representatives, and manufacturers in the sale and distribution of products and services.
